Intensive review of grammar, composition, and culture at the intermediate-high level. Designed for students who need reinforcement and expansion of the structures of the Spanish language. Essay composition and constant practice in the use and comprehension of the spoken language.

First course in the intermediate sequence. Intensive review of grammar, composition, and culture at the intermediate level. Designed for students who need reinforcement and expansion of the structures of the Spanish language. Introduction to authentic texts and Hispanic films to study new cultural perspectives.

Designed to improve command of the spoken language through building vocabulary, improving pronunciation and expressing ideas in a more natural manner with some written Spanish practice as well. Conducted in Spanish.

A study in Spanish of selected literary pieces from Spain and Latin America. Students analyze a variety of short stories, short novels, poetry, and plays.

Emphasis on control of high-frequency structures to produce a broad range of vocabulary related to topics of personal, public, and community interest, with competency on authentic cultural practices and perspectives.
SPAN 31 and SPAN 32 can be taken in any order.
ADVISE: Oral fluency in Spanish
Designed for bilingual/heritage students who are effective in oral communication in Spanish within their communities but have little formal training in written forms of the language. Intensive review of grammar, composition, and translation. Emphasis on control of high-frequency structures to communicate with ease, confidence, detail, and organization on familiar topics and new concrete social, academic, and work-related topics, sharing points of view, and using critical thinking.
